Tim's thoughts on season 14

http://www.ew.com/article/2015/11/03/project-runway-tim-gunn-hated-season-14

Tim hated this season. And I agree with him completely. They did not seem to want it enough. Some of the most talented (I'm looking at you Swapnil) were barely putting in an effect and even admitted it.

For me Kelly was the one designer who clearly wanted it. She fought and she grew over the season. No one else seemed to really grow. Even some of my favorites like Candace and Ashley just kind of stagnated. They started out strong and then never pushed.

Totally agree with Tim Gunns assessment. Swapnil would have rocked the runway if he had put even half an effort in to it. What a shame to waste his chance.

I'm surprised at who won.

I agree; Kelly seemed to want it the most. She took everything the critics said about her and adjusted it to her work. This was a really weird season and off way to finish the finale.

Tim irked me this season. There was nothing we saw on screen to deserve such ire. I found the storyline that Swapnil is lazy to be a bunch of fabricated BS. He's not the first designer to be a heavy smoker. Chris March took a nap in the middle of designing his collection. If they had tantrums and laziness to show, trust me, Lifetime would have been all over that. This show just feels fake and phoney now and I am puzzled by Tim's crankiness over it all.

Swapnil himself said he wasn't putting in his full effort, though? The just trying to stay safe I could understand because lots of designers on this show have done that. But he outright admitted that he didn't really care and was not going to put in more than 60%. And in the particular challenge where he was eliminated, he didn't care about his client at all. It was nice for once that the person who was rude to their client was eliminated (unlike, say, Jeffrey or Ven).

And I did feel like a lot of time the designers weren't doing as well as they could. I particularly felt that with Ashley who was really good in the beginning but then stagnated. The only person who I felt really grew was Kelly. Part of this certainly was the short challenges, but that has been true for several seasons and there wasn't quite as much stagnation in any of them as there was here.
